We welcomed a parent of one of our Year 6 pupils who came and taught us all about Chinese New Year, how and why her family celebrate. She taught us about Lunar New Year, why people celebrate Lunar New Year, explained a number of different Chinese traditions, told us all about the Twelve Zodiacs representing each year and told us all about how her family celebrate. We were taught key phrases in Chinese and were even taught a Chinese New Year song. The children were so engrossed and had lots of questions to ask our special visitor. Oscar played the piano for the song we all sang and continued playing for us as we all left the hall. What a fantastic experience! Huge thanks to Oscar (6R) and his Mum (6R).
