Children from all year groups enjoyed an Easter celebration assembly this morning.    Children sang the songs they had been rehearsing in class.   The voices sounded wonderful, and it was enjoyed by many teachers and staff. 

Easter is the most important festival in the Christian calendar. It celebrates Jesus rising from the dead, three days after he was executed.

The date of Easter Sunday varies from year to year. It is celebrated on the first Sunday after the full moon, on or after 21 March.

In 2023 Easter Sunday is on 9 April. The week leading up to Easter is called Holy Week.  

Palm Sunday - This is the Sunday before Easter Sunday.   Maundy Thursday - This is the Thursday before Easter Day.   Good Friday - Good Friday is the Friday before Easter Sunday. It commemorates the execution of Jesus by crucifixion.   Easter Sunday - Easter Sunday marks Jesus's resurrection.
